SCALAR

SCALAR is a complete robotics system built over the course of 8 weeks for the RAPID REACT season of the world's largest robotics competition, FRC.

The robot intakes and shoots oversized (8.5" OD) tennis balls into an high hoop, and traverses metal "monkey bars" to climb into the air. It has complex electronics, many moving parts and linkages, a failsafe pneumatics system, and has autonomous machine vision capabilities.

On the team, my technical roles involved engineering design, fabrication, assembly, and electrical work.

ENGINEERING DESIGN

As a primary CAD designer on this robot, I worked to develop a robust design with my knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), adding the required tolerances and conducting interference testing.
